When I discovered the meaning of love

When I discovered the meaning of love
The leaves flew off the trees in my mind
Leaving them standing bare

Loving-
Its origins I do not know yet

What I do know is that
It did not begin in the eyes

The injustice begins with describing
The dissolved times of our mating
As an ‘ accumulation of dreams’
Or when conducting a scientific investigation
For the sources of its growth

Mercilessly,
And not constrained by visions of blood
The intellect executes love

No arguments at this point
Put aside the prized editions of
Logic, psychology and philosophy

After a long relationship
It is effortless to read the invitation in your eyes
To feel the yearning in your finger tips

Tonight my heart quivers with
The distant stars

The placid blue sky in the background
On the sands of the shore
Your long fingers comb through my hair

I would like to sleep on your breasts
Very much
Yes.
